It is an enormous privilege for me and my colleagues at Janine Edwards Wealth Management, Principal Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management to be intimately involved in such a high profile event as the Leicester Mercury Business Awards. I strongly believe that our best companies deserve real recognition and these Awards are the perfect way to go about it. There is much to be learnt from the successful companies and, by celebrating their accomplishments; we will incentivise others to follow in their footsteps.

My philosophy centres on establishing trust and building valuable, long term relationships and so I see these Awards as a wonderful opportunity to encourage a strong, tightly knit Leicestershire business community that works in the interests of everybody.

The Partner represents only St. James's Place Wealth Management plc (which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority) for the purpose of advising solely on the Group's wealth management products and services, more details of which are set out on the Group's website at www.sjp.co.uk/products. The title 'Partner' is the marketing term used to describe St. James's Place representatives.

Employers are increasingly waking up to the benefits that apprentices bring to their businesses and the economy. Apprentices enable businesses to develop a skilled workforce, support succession planning, and contribute to productivity.

Leicester College is a leading light in the training provision for Leicester and Leicestershire apprentices, working with hundreds of local employers and thousands of apprentices on an annual basis. With the introduction of the new apprenticeship levy, the College is also pleased to launch a Levy Co-ordination Solution Service, allowing us to work closely with employers to support them though the changes and get the best possible value from their investment in apprenticeships.

It is our pleasure to sponsor an award that specifically celebrates the contribution and value of apprentices in the workplace, and recognises how vital the continued support of local businesses is to the apprenticeships scheme.

We’re all about supporting and cheering on other businesses, particularly in their earlier stages...so much so that we built MNE Accounting on that very principle! We chose to specialise in supporting small-medium businesses with a flexible approach to accounting. We like to think of ourselves as ‘entrepreneur enablers’!

Choosing to sponsor the New Business of the Year award was an easy decision for us to make. We have experienced very rapid growth since our full-time launch in 2013, so we know how much of an amazing achievement winning an award in the early days can be - we always aspired to do so! It’s incredibly humbling for us to be in the position to sponsor this award just a few years after our own start-up.
