Once again, the great and the good of Leicester’s business community are set to gather for the prestigious Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2018. Bringing together companies of all sizes and from across a range of sectors, the awards offer the chance for businesses to be acknowledged and celebrated for their contribution to the business community over the last 12 months.
The city of Leicester has a flourishing business community and with retailers, manufacturers, not-for-profit organisations and small businesses all rewarded at the awards, the evening marks one of the standout nights on the local business calendar. This year’s event will take place on 12th April 2018 at the Maher Centre and will see people gather for an evening of celebration and fine dining as they are greeted with a Champagne reception followed by a delicious three-course meal.
Then, the award presentations will get underway, with 14 fantastic awards on offer. These include Company of the Year, SME Business of the Year and Employer of the Year. Businesses will be hoping that they can follow in the footsteps of last year’s Company of the Year winners, Qualvis Print & Packaging Ltd. The print company has manufactured for a wide range of different industries including food & drink, media, cosmetics and household and they were worthy winners on the night.
With nominations now open, companies who have really made a difference to the region, their industry or sector are encouraged to nominate. Recognising businesses both big and small, this year there are a variety of new categories on offer, such as the Customer Service Excellence Award and the Sustainability Award.
The black-tie ceremony will be attended by both finalists and category sponsors, whose job it is to decide on the shortlisted finalists and the eventual winners. So far, several sponsors have been confirmed for the event including: Janine Edwards Wealth Management, a Principal Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, Mazars, De Montfort University, Freeths, Ventola Projects, MNE Accounting, Global Payments, Samworth Brothers, PPL PRS Ltd, AXA PPP Healthcare, BHIB Insurance Brokers, Data Clarity Ltd, Training for Business, Eileen Richards Recruitment and College Court.
Winning one of the coveted awards can really enhance a business’ profile, and as excitement builds for 2018’s event you can be sure a whole host of business talent will be showcased at the event.
Not only do the awards provide a platform to recognise and reward success in the business world, they also offer a vital fundraising opportunity. The Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People provides a place for children who are suffering from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions to be cared for as well as offering support to their families. All money raised on the night will go to this worthwhile cause.
