The Leicester Mercury Business Awards returns on Thursday 12 April 2018, and will celebrate the achievements of brands, businesses and organisations and praise the business acumen of some of the city’s most illustrious entrepreneurs.

A prominent and prestigious event, the Leicester Mercury Business Awards is always one of the most highly anticipated events of the business calendar, and this year the awards are thrilled to once again have the backing of Europe’s largest audit and accounting firms, Mazars.

These clients come from a wide range of industries from hospitality and leisure to energy and utilities as well as the financial, professional and public services.

This is not the first time the accountancy firm have supported the awards through headline sponsorship. Last year also saw the firm in this role where they benefitted from being an intrinsic part of one of Leicester’s biggest events.

Heading up the Leicester office which is located in Meridian Business Park is Office Managing Partner, Chris Darlington. Speaking of the firm’s decision to reprise their headline sponsorship, Chris said: “Business achievement is fundamental to us having a strong, local and national economy so we believe it should not only be encouraged and supported but also that it should be celebrated and recognised and there is no better way to do this than through the business awards.  The awards create a great feel-good factor and reminds us what a diverse, resilient and entrepreneurial region we all live in.”

As a headline sponsor, Mazars have a responsibility to help raise the profile of the Leicester Mercury Business Awards, but will also benefit from the many opportunities placing their name in association with these awards brings, which Chris highlighted as being able to “reaffirm our continued commitment to the region and the businesses within it.”

Leicester is a sought-after location for businesses to establish themselves, with one key attraction being the inclusiveness of its business community. There is an undeniably strong community spirit among businesses in Leicester, and the Leicester Mercury Business Awards are just one of the ways in which businesses can come together to support one another in their endeavours and achievements.

Chris concluded by highlighting the importance of celebrating other business’ success, stating that businesses have a responsibility to “give other businesses the recognition they deserve and a pat on the back as a sign of support and acknowledgement.”
