In 2018 the event will take place at one of the city’s greatest event venues, the Maher Centre and nominations for the awards are now open. The night will begin with a Champagne reception upon arrival before finalists are treated to a delicious three-course meal. This will then be followed by the prize-giving ceremony which will see category sponsors present the winners with one of the 14 prestigious awards on offer.
Just some of the categories, finalists will be hoping to triumph in at the awards include:
Company of the Year
This is one of the most sought-after awards and recognises a firm that has stood out from the crowd and have performed outstandingly in the last year. Businesses from all sectors can be nominated and the winner will have achieved huge success in the past year demonstrating innovation, a strong market share and economic turnaround.
Employer of the Year
One of this year’s new categories is the Employer of the Year award which acknowledges the best employer in the region. Recognised as one of the best places to work in the local area, the recipient of this award will have shown a strong investment in their employees including reward schemes and other staff benefits.
Business Entrepreneur of the Year
The Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2018 will also reward those individuals who have made a difference to the region’s business community. Celebrating those people behind the most innovative and successful companies in Leicestershire, this award rewards the impact entrepreneurs have made to their company. Judges will select finalists and the eventual winner based on who they think best represents Leicestershire’s business spirit.
Customer Service Excellence Award
Another new category for 2018 is the Customer Service Excellence Award. This award is given to the business who make sure their customers are a priority on a day to day basis. Demonstrating their outstanding commitment to giving customers the best possible service, the winners of this award will be based on the outstanding testimonials they have received during their work.
Start-Up Business of the Year
Not only do the awards provide a place for established companies to be recognised, but awards for new businesses are also on offer. Recognising the brightest new businesses in the region who have already made an impact on the community and look set to continue their good work in the future. Judges will be looking for a company who has an excellent business plan, already achieved big things and have a large potential growth.
Being environmentally and economically friendly is extremely important and this new category rewards those who are making strides to become more sustainable year on year. Nominees will need to outline their sustainability policies and demonstrate how they handle productions.
