Freeths Solicitors Announced as Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2018 Headline Sponsor

One of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Leicester business calendar, the Leicester Mercury Business Awards is set to return next year. Recognising the success that companies have had over the last year, the awards celebrate businesses both large and small across a range of sectors.

With awards in 14 different categories on offer, competition is sure to be as fierce as ever. Nominations for the awards are now open, with each category having a sponsor whose job it is to decide on the list of finalists and the eventual winner. One business who are showing their support as Headline Sponsors this year, are UK leading law firm Freeths Solicitors. With an office located in the heart of Leicester city centre, they witness first-hand how important local business success is to the region.

Mukesh Patel, Managing Director at Freeths Solicitors highlighted their reasons for their association with the awards: “We are thrilled to be a Headline Sponsor, it demonstrates our commitment to recognising and rewarding the excellent businesses in Leicester and the County. Awards such as these bring people together from across the region and provide an excellent opportunity to network, reflect on the past business year and share experiences with business colleagues.”

He continued: “The award ceremony has grown in numbers year on year and the awards are an excellent way to encourage, recognise and reward the hard work and on-going commitment of local businesses.”

Understanding that success in business can benefit the wider community, Mukesh explained what benefits the awards can bring: “Awards like these enable us to show case the region and highlight why it is such a great place to both live and work. The region has become particularly well known over the last few years and it is important that we capitalise on the opportunities this brings. The region is the fastest growing outside of London and the South East and this is demonstrated by the new investment into the city.  We have great transport links and a highly skilled and educated workforce-we want to encourage further inward investment and what better way than an event such as this.”

“Awards are important because they show-case the very best and we can all learn from others success.  It also contributes to the feel-good factor for everyone and it is important that we are proud of our region, the impact of awards like these on new business and boosting staff morale should not be underestimated.”

The awards will take place at the Maher Centre in the city on 12 April 2018 and see members of Leicester’s business community come together for a wonderful evening of celebration. Guests will be welcomed with a Champagne reception upon arrival before enjoying a delicious three-course meal. The black-tie ceremony will then get underway as nominees discover who will be walking away with the coveted awards including Company of the Year, Employer of the Year and Not-for-Profit Organisation.

The night will also see much needed funds raised for local charity, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, who care for children who are suffering from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
