DEADLINE EXTENDED

If you have not yet submitted your nominations for this year’s Leicester Mercury Business Awards, then do not fear as it has now been confirmed that the deadline for this year’s event has been extended! Nominations were due to close this Friday, but they have now been extended until Friday 19 January 2018 giving people the chance to get their nominations in ahead of the ceremony on 12 April.

This year the event is sure to be bigger than ever, with some of the region’s biggest businesses set to be in attendance at the event which is taking place at Leicester’s Maher Centre. Companies of all sizes and from a whole host of sectors will be hoping to take home one of the 14 fantastic awards on offer.

Once nominations are closed, it will then be down to category sponsors to decide who the shortlisted finalists will be, as well as the eventual winners. One of the most prestigious awards up for grabs at the ceremony is the ‘Company of the Year’ award which recognises a business that has made a fantastic contribution to their industry in the last 12 months.

Unique Window Systems are one of the UK’s fastest growing manufacturing businesses, specialising in designing, creating and installing PVCu and aluminium building products, and they will be hoping their nomination will make it onto the list of finalists at the awards. The company had an extremely successful 2017 and as well as making a big impact locally, they have also seen their services used on a global scale, supplying products in the Caribbean, Gibraltar and throughout Europe.

Another potential finalist who will be hoping to be shortlisted are Guidance Marine. An award-winning firm, Guidance Marine use disruptive position measurement technology to provide safety and cost benefits to a range of different sectors. The company are also the leading global developer of Dynamic Positioning technology and have seen their business grow significantly over the years. Striving to be at the forefront of innovative technology, they are constantly developing new ideas and 2017 saw them explore the market in China, working closely with the cruise ship building sector.   

A manufacturer of bespoke signage for over 40 years, Sygnet Signs are another business eagerly waiting to see whether they will achieve the ‘Company of the Year’ shortlist. Making high quality signs for businesses county-wide, the company utilises the latest state-of-the-art technology to produce signage of the very highest quality. Recently, they branched out and have seen their products and services used in Europe and Asia. A one-stop shop for all manner of signage, they produce built-ups, flat-cuts, totems, monoliths and projection signs, giving their clients a massive selection to choose from.
