2018 will once again see the prestigious Leicester Mercury Business Awards return to the region, with Leicester’s biggest and best companies hoping to get their hands on one of the coveted awards. 14 awards are on offer to nominees in a range of categories, all recognising regional business success. Not only are big businesses rewarded, but awards are also on offer to smaller companies and individuals.
One of the awards on offer at the ceremony is the Employer of the Year award. Recognising an employer who has made an outstanding contribution to the local business community, this year the award will be sponsored by worldwide software and data services company, Data Clarity. With a wide range of clients all over the world, the business can transform data into actionable information by creating powerful software to benefit individuals and businesses.
Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Carrick, discussed why they chose to sponsor this particular award: “We are passionate about providing businesses with the tools to unlock the best performance from their people - namely helping them to make smarter business decisions. We chose to sponsor the Employer of the Year award in order to recognise those businesses who are investing in their employees to drive sustainable business growth.”
Knowing how important it is to support local businesses, Kevin highlighted what Data Clarity contribute to Leicester’s business community. He said: “We are delighted to support the region’s business community by sponsoring this award. We work with a number of local brands and businesses and appreciate the abundant talent we have within our local economic areas. Our solutions are designed to improve business performance which in turn drives local economy performance. We are always keen to grow our connections with the local business community and help them maximise their company performance.”
Marking one of the stand-out events on the local business calendar, the awards will take place on 12 April at one of Leicester’s premier event venues – the Maher Centre. Finalists will be welcomed with a Champagne reception upon arrival before taking to their seats for a delicious three-course meal.
Proceedings will then get underway as those nominated eagerly wait to see if they have won one of the coveted awards. Category sponsors, including Data Clarity, will take to the stage to announce the winners.
Guests from across a range of business sectors will come together at the ceremony, to celebrate local business success. As well as recognising these achievements, the awards also provide a vital fundraising opportunity.
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People cares for youngsters who are suffering from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and offers support to their families. All money raised on the night will be donated to the hospice following a game of stand-up bingo and a silent auction.
