The Business Entrepreneur of the Year award is presented to the individual whose fantastic business acumen and innovative thinking sets them apart and has lead to significant business success for their company. This year the award is sponsored by renowned accountancy firm, Mazars. An international business, Mazars specialise in audit, tax and advisory services and have a Leicester office. With clients all over the world, the company forge long-lasting relationships with all their clients.
Chris Darlington is the Leicester Office’s Managing Partner, and he discussed why the business chose to sponsor this particular award. He said: “We were keen to promote the great businesses and people that we have in Leicestershire and the work that they do, which is pivotal to the prosperity of our wider community. Without entrepreneurial minded people, prepared to take risks and make commitments, the region would be a much poorer place. Accordingly, we should recognise and celebrate their efforts and achievements and these awards are a great way to do this.”
Chris also believes it is important to support the region’s business community and highlighted how Mazars do this. “We are a fast-growing business offering outstanding training, employment and career development opportunities from within a local office in the heart of the business community. This underpins our overall commitment to the Leicestershire marketplace, which is further evidenced by the support we give to our clients, the transactional activity we help to create and deliver, the time and effort we spend supporting local business initiatives as well as our patronage of a number of local charities such as AGE UK Leicestershire and Rutland, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and LOROS.”
The ceremony will see money raised for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People who care for youngsters who suffer from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions as well as offering support to their families.
