Excitement is building, finalists have been contacted and we are now just under a month away from the Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2018. This year has seen the introduction of some exciting new categories including the ‘Excellence in Innovation Award’ which recognises a company who has made significant strides in their sector by creating or introducing something new whilst still supporting the local economy.
This award is sure to be hotly contested and accountancy firm SFB Group have been announced as the category sponsors for this award. Established in 1955 as Stewart Fletcher & Barrett Chartered Accountants, the company have recently expanded their offering to include corporate finance, tax advisory and wealth management.
Shelley Harvey, Director of the award-winning firm discussed why they chose to sponsor the ‘Excellence in Innovation Award.’ “Here at SFB Group, we recognise the need for innovation across all businesses. We are regularly amazed by our client’s forward thinking and ingenuity and want to celebrate companies who work hard to find innovative solutions through product design or improving business process and customer satisfaction. Judging the awards has been a fantastic experience and it is great to see the diverse range of innovation from within our local business community.”
She continued: “Our vision and values underpin everything that we do at SFB Group. We work closely with our clients to help them achieve their business and personal goals. Our core values are EPIC – Enjoyment, Professional, Innovation and Commercial. We identify innovative solutions for our clients and continually find new ways to improve the client experience which is why we felt the innovation award was the perfect choice for SFB Group!”
Having been based in the Leicestershire region for many years, Shelley outlined what the company does to contribute to the local business community. She said: “SFB is proud to be part of Leicestershire’s business community and supports a number of local initiatives. We have cultivated links with many charities and work closely with numerous local organisations and groups including De Montfort University, with whom we run a successful work experience and employment partnership. SFB has also developed an Info2Grow event in partnership with organisations such as HSBC and Howes Percival Solicitors. Info2Grow helps businesses to share ideas, information and best practice for the good of the local economy and wellbeing of businesses.”
In the next year SFB Group plan to continue providing their high-level of service to people within the region, as Shelley explained: “Our key focus for the coming year is to help our clients and business contacts achieve their goals! We have committed to a comprehensive support programme to help Leicestershire businesses at all stages of their business journey. We will be running seminars addressing making tax digital and GDPR, as well as taking part in events and expos across the region to help local businesses to prosper and grow.”
