AXA PPP healthcare draw attention to the family-run businesses living in Leicester

AXA PPP healthcare are the latest sponsors to have been confirmed for the upcoming Leicester Mercury Business Awards, which returns to the Maher Centre on 11 April 2019.

Committed to pursuing better health for their members, AXA PPP healthcare provide healthcare cover to small businesses from 1 to 249 employees in the UK.

Their aim is to be there for businesses and their employees when they need them most, supporting clients with healthcare cover that’s built around their specific business needs.

The business has chosen to get behind the Family Business of the Year award which is a new addition to the category selection and recognises stand-out companies which keep strong family values at their core.

As category sponsors, AXA PPP healthcare will be responsible for selecting three finalists and one eventual winner. Mike Davis, Head of SME, explained their association with this award:

“Family businesses are particularly special due to the passion and dedication that exudes from those involved with the business. The commitment that we see in the nominees of this category, to securing the business for the next generation so they can continue the legacy is particularly inspiring.”

While AXA PPP healthcare was established in 1940, it has been operating in the Leicester area for 30 years, and in that time has become a key part in the makeup of the local business community through charity work and involvement with local initiatives. Mike said:

“We select local charities to support each year and are proud to have raised over £4,000 so far this year for those charities.”

“We’re constantly inspired by the diversity and growth of businesses in the region, which is why our continued involvement with the Leicester Mercury Business Awards is so important to show our support for the businesses and individuals that contribute so much to the local economy.”

As well as helping to shape the future and raise the profile of the successful Family Business of the Year entrant, Mike also shed light on what the next 12 months looks like for AXA PPP healthcare:

“Over the coming year, we are continuing our dedication to helping our customers live better lives. Our customers’ health is our priority, so we are constantly looking at ways that we can support them.

“We know how challenging it can be to run a business, so our aim is to provide business owners with the tools and knowledge they need to support the health and wellbeing needs of their team.”
