A breakfast for sponsors – networking breakfast for Leicester Mercury Business Awards

A prelude to the Leicester Mercury Business Awards, which is taking place on Thursday 11 April 2019, the annual networking breakfast brings category sponsors together and informs them on their duties as sponsors. This includes reviewing all applications in their chosen category, selecting three finalists and one eventual winner.

The breakfast, which will be on Monday 10 December, provides a relaxed environment where everyone can enjoy good breakfast food, and the opportunity to get to know one another prior to the award ceremony. There will also be a speech from the Leicester Mercury regarding the upcoming award campaign.

Having recently confirmed their sponsorship, College Court will be the backdrop for this year’s networking breakfast.

Based on Knighton Road, Leicester, College Court is the city’s only purpose-built conference centre and hotel. Recently marking their fifth anniversary, the venue has celebrated a number of award successes both regionally and nationally.

Steve Crawford is the Centre Director for College Court and was on-hand to explain their decision to support this year’s Leicester Mercury Business Awards and the benefits their sponsorship brings:

“The Leicester Mercury Business Awards celebrates businesses from a range of industries.

“Having the opportunity to support the Business Awards allows us to showcase our facilities whilst also celebrating localised successes within Leicestershire.”

The facilities Steve refers to includes 16 versatile meeting rooms, 123 bedrooms, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a city centre location and free onsite parking – making College Court the perfect fit for conferences and events such as this.

The awards themselves play a crucial part in highlighting the best of the best in business and their contribution to the region’s economy, community and morale. Steve highlighted the other far-reaching effects the business awards has on the local area:

“The Leicester Mercury Business Awards are an opportunity to put our region on the map, whilst making a positive contribution to the local community.

“It also reaffirms that Leicester and Leicestershire are home to some of the country’s best companies and testament to their hard work, dedication and passionate employees.”
