Michael Smith Switchgear are the latest company to have registered their support for the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.
The company, who manufacture, install, commission and maintain low voltage switchgear and control panels for whole of the UK, are adding to the line-up of fantastic category sponsors at this year’s award ceremony. And, it’s fellow SME businesses that the company has chosen to get behind.
Employing no more than 75 full-time employers, the SME Business of the Year Award will go to a company that has a proven record of success and is always on the look-out for growth and development opportunities.
Michael Smith Switchgear will be adding gravitas to the category alongside Leicestershire lighting specialists, Ventola, who the company are sharing sponsorship with.
Sean Smith is the Managing Director at Michael Smith Switchgear and he said:
“Having entered and won this award in 2017 we have benefited greatly from not only the exposure from winning the award but the process as a whole. We found that being judged and assessed by a great business in our region assisted us to grow as it encouraged us to investigate areas of the business that you do not look at on a day to day basis.
“We believe that we can encourage other businesses to do the same and this will aid them in their future growth. The feedback from a company that has been through the awards process will hopefully prove invaluable to them.
“Being a SME ourselves it is companies of our size that are the heart of the community, we are continuing to grow and offer employment to more local people every year.
“We are forward thinking when it comes to our product development and also have our environmental impact at the forefront of every decision that we make. This not only benefits our region’s business community but also our environment.”
The Leicester Mercury Business Awards will be taking place on Thursday 11 April at the Maher Centre.
